Networking will change your networth

Wow what a busy week it has been for me! Had travelled to a far end of planet earth on a ministry mission. Special thanks to Tara who kept my page alive whilst I was away.

I was a bit disappointed that I did not achieve much of what I had travelled all the way to achieve. But then, in my disappointment I also learnt that I had achieved a far greater success abroad – I had networked with some very influential people and had got about 10 business cards from them.

As I was packing the business cards in my bag, I remembered what a certain visionery taught me some years back. He said when you arrive at a new place, you should make it a point to “speak less of yourself” and learn from others through networking. This helped me, because through listening and making small talk, in a few days I was able to build a small network that motivated and inspired me.I advice you the same. Do you know that what matters in life is not what you know, it’s who you know. These are words from the author of one of the world’s greatest bestsellers of all time, Dale Carnegie.
Many goals can be achieved by communicating with other people and learning just how to talk to people can lead you to great success.

Your circle should be well rounded and supportive. Keep it tight, its not about having too many people on your network. Quality over quantity, always.

The art of talking is what most people overlook. You cannot know a person until you talk with them and get to know them at a deeper level. Small talk also serves as a portal to let others see you as well. In the world of aviation in particular, you must surround yourself with the right flight and ground personnel who can help you grow and expand your horizons.

I believe these 10 business cards I got will build me a network of people within my grasp, connections that will lead me closer to success.I challenge you to do the same.

Remember, your network determines your networth (your monetary value). I’m back in style and will talk to you more.
