My name is Tarisai Tara, the co-founder of Yadley.com. I am an aviation entrepreneur, writer, friend of God and citizen of the world. This is my story…
We set up this blog a while back but since then I never posted anything because I was kind of skeptical about what I would tell the “world”. As an English major, when we set up Yadley.com, it was just “assumed” I would do all the writing.
It scared me.
I kept imagining all kinds of negative feedback or worst of all no feedback at all.
I WAS AFRAID OF BEING JUDGED!!
You see, I am pretty much a novice in both aviation and entrepreneurship matters, but I am extremely passionate about them, and hope to one day be recognized as a seasoned “aviation entrepreneur“.
Well, as God would have it just before I made my final decision to back out of blogging I consulted my business partner (I NEEDED SOMEONE TO BACK UP MY COWARDICE SO I WOULD NOT FEEL GUILT LATER).
My business partner being the soft spoken person that he is, listened for about 20 minutes as I went on and on about how I was too committed with ‘this and that’ to go on with this blog and I went on and on with all the excuses I had made up until I ran out of steam. He was quiet for a while then he said simply “Dear, ask yourself why we started (the blog) in the first place, if you can remember that reason then you will know whether to go on or to let go.”
And having heard those words here I am writing to y’all great people.
If I have learned anything from this whole “should I, should I not” battle that was going on in my mind it’s this, THE WILL OF GOD WILL NEVER TAKE YOU WHERE HIS GRACE CANNOT KEEP YOU.
Don’t shy away from your calling, from your dreams or your goals for whatever reason. All things that are of God are good. God won’t give you great ideas if He has no intention of seeing you through. And He wouldn’t have given us this blog unless He intended to give us something to say.
Whatever He gives He watches over.
Concerning this, I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me. And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.(2 Corinthians 12:8-10).
So today is the day you take out that C.V or whatever it is that you have long since tucked away because you told yourself ‘you couldn’t’ and guess what, you were right because alone you couldn’t but with God, YOU CAN.
Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
(Psalms 127:1)
Whatever you determine to do in your heart, do it, be not afraid to be who you must be.
Express yourself!
Dare yourself to do that one good thing you have always wanted to do and yet were too afraid, it might be applying for an airline job for instance. If you believe it expresses who you are and what you are about then go ahead and rock it!
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)
