Welcome to Aviation Medicine and Advanced First Aid (Part 1)
This new and exciting course combines aspects of preventive, occupational, environmental and clinical medicine with the physiology and psychology of man in flight. It is concerned with the health and safety of those who fly, both crew and passengers. It also draws on the various medical specialties that are essential to the safe and smooth operations of an airline and includes public health, aviation medicine, and occupational health and travel medicine.
This course has been created to reflect current issues of interest within the airline industry. Additionally, links are provided to carefully researched websites which may be used for further information. This course will also:
- prepare you to handle a variety of medical emergencies on board an airplane, from emergency child birth, burn injuries and cardiac arrests.
- provide a good foundation for those medical practitioners planning to proceed to the course for the Diploma in Aviation Medicine.
Members of allied health professions also may attend the course if they wish
